I was just sitting here, watching Rachel Maddow (she's awesome!) talk to Richard Shelby, Pat Buchanan and Ed Rendell when the thought struck me; I have not heard one word of blame or concern for the financial clusterfuck directed at the war-mongers, and the security danger it implies.
Think about it. We are being asked to foot a $1trillion dollar bailout of the credit markets. These markets provide credit for things like mortgages and business loans. Without the bailout, the military-industrial complex may not be able to get the money they need to stay fat, and to keep us armed!
So, my question (I only teach 2nd grade. This stuff is a bit over my head) is:
With our military so overextended, and our money gone, are we so weak as a nation that we are in danger?
